I was on Cape Cod yesterday and in 2 hours and 5 mile radius I found three Cat Boats in need of homes. One beetle Cat #51, On Crosby keeled 29' Cat and one Batten Seamed Cat of 20'

These will be listed ASAP, I hope before I am off to Iceland. The big Cat needs a major amount of work, but has history. The Beetle needs major too, but not much to those little things. The Batten Seam has a home already with me---I think unless you can convince me you are the better home (worked for two people on two boats this last few weeks ;)

So i would also like to say this. It took me no more than 2 hours to find three boats and start the "saving" . If we would all take 2 hours a month in out yards in our hoods---well them we can get to a lot more while they are still "get-to-able"

cheers, Bruce

I know of quite a few sitting around in south Jersey. What would I have to do to get them listed?

great---just get oictures (one that show true shape), info, cobntaxct numbers, etc to owner, and the owners ok---send it all to me at bioelf@mindspring.com
proprective new owners will contact the currect owner directly.

This is what I do with all wood boats not just cats.

let me know if you can help and I will spread the word about them.

I read an article in an older WB mag (2002?) about someone collecting beetle cats. I'll try to look it up and contact him.

Joe, you better be sure your real estate business is doing REALLY well before you take this one on. A 29' keel catboat is one enormous 29' boat - 12' beam! You could probably have a dance for twenty people in the cockpit. This one will need truckloads of money, or years of your time, or both. OTOH, bringing this boat back to life would certainly be a good thing; just don't have any illusions about the size of the project.
