Don't know what size you're looking for- I tried hard this past summer to find narrow (1/4") crown construction weight staples in a 1" length to cold mold ply onto the bottom of my boat. After checking all over the US and UK I came to the conclusion that they are available only on special order in large quantities. The idea that they are generally available is a myth. None of the "obvious" sources- Jamestown, etc. had any or knew of a consistent source.

I did find lots of sources for stainless, in different grades, and sources for smaller hand powered staplers in copper and bronze. But the larger stuff for pneumatic industrial sized staples just isn't out there. We ended up using bronze ring nails to maintain an all bronze fastening schedule.

If you are looking for staples for a standard hand operated staple gun something like the "Arrow T50" you should be able to find monel staples pretty easily & they are as good as(if not better than) bronze. That is unless you will be able to see them & you are going for the color.

the bronze staples are wanted for the sheathing of veneers on a carvel hull, I require 13mm or 1/2 inch, stainless will not do, monel would be 2nd choice, where can I get them? monel that is.

I know that up here on 'the other side of the world' monel staples are available at only about 1/4 or 1/5 the number of places that carry regular staples - usually at the better hardware stores or real lumber yards.
I thought Jamestowm Distributors would carry them, but I just checked their web site & couldn't find them listed. You should be able to find a place online that will ship them.

I just bought a 5m count box of 1/4" x 3/4" narrow crown staples Prebena brand for my air stapler from Danow (http://www.danowcorp.com) for about $65. I will be using them for new decks on a Cortland Thompson I will be rebuilding soon.

Hi,
Up here Home Depot sells both stainless and monel staples. They are not stocked in as many sizes as the standard steel ones, but enough for most jobs.
These fit a standard Arrow t-50 hand operated stapler, as well as many other popular staplers. For production work I'm sure there are air and electric powered staplers, too. Home Depot has a website, but I don't know if they will ship down under. The brand is Arrow, they come in packs of 1250 staples. I know they make 1/4 inch / 6mm and 3/8 / 10mm as I have them on hand. The model numbers for the monel are 504M and 506M respectively. Arrow has a website that may be of help; www.arrowfastener.com (http://www.arrowfastener.com)
Good luck,
