That's got a few add-on features, but looks similar to one moldering here.

But whatever you do, don't let Donn read the listing...the grammatical errors made me dizzy...

.

Yeah, and what size did they finally figure out, 30ft, 32ft, 36ft., or 40 "something" ?

I'd absolutely love to have a Chinese junk...incredible boats, but "it ain't gonna' happen" right now. :(

I would guess they're a good candidate for liveaboards..

Joe you'd stand a better chance of getting one. I've seen a few - some real, some replicas - and while a couple were real stunners, the rest faced a bleak future like the above. :(

Peter, have you ever considered learning how to post long URL's without blowing up the forum?

http://www.tinyurl.com is one of many ways.

It's easy...even LeeGee can do it.

Thanks for your consideration.

Have a good day, the ever jovial Donn."

or you could be brief and polite like Joe

Or you could make popsicle sticks out of all that teak and then make a popsicle stick junk. And then see if you could get more for it on EBay than you paid for the original teak junk.

Or you could just plop it in Don[n]'s carport and watch it rot. How's that Skiff doing ? ;)

Yep Margo, I think it's 'cause a lotta' people get this "romantic" idea of a Chinese junk and, until the realization sets in, don't think about it being a wooden boat that needs maintenance and care. It's a shame that such nice boats, not to mention fine wood, end up like this, like junk ! :D

I've traveled a bit in the "developing" countries of Asia and I've seen lots of watercraft from tiny sampans up to a behemoth junk. A number of "authentic" Chinese junks I've seen in the States have been replicas or look-alikes. This one looks a lot like the "look-alikes". ;)

Junks are excellent boats ! For over 800 years they have been built from 20 to over 400 feet long, and an awful lot of the safety, efficency, durability, and modern technology of sailing comes directly from the Chinese and their junk :D probably more than we know or would care to admit.

I was fortunate to be invited to dinner on a "little" live-aboard that I'd like to have. It belonged to a Taiwan-Chinese computer factory owner. It was an 85 footer built on the original design by the Nanjing shipyard (where Zheng He's ships were built)entirely of teak, in 1993 and he spent $6 MILLION U.S. to have it outfitted with the latest in comfort and technology. Now that's expensive junk ! smile.gif It even had a Chinese compass aboard.

If it found it's way to a "junk" yard, I'd rescue it for the $6,000 that this one will probably go for.
