We have recently acquired one of four known surviving hulls of the 12 Columbia River One Design class built in the '30s and '40s by the Astoria Marine Construction Company of Astoria, OR. The class was designed by Joseph M. Dyer on a commission from the Columbia River Yachting Association (forerunner of the Portland Yacht Club). Two of the surviving hulls are in storage at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria. One is in use in Washington State, and ours is sailing merrily in Texas. For more on the history of the CRODs, Astoria and the Astoria Marine Construction Company, drop by our web site (http://geocities.com/crodhull3) . If you know of any additional CRODs, please let us know.
