I pulled out my trusty Nikon CoolPix 5700 tonight and got a couple of shots of a new cruise boat that appeared in Burlington this fall. I will find out more about her at some point when I have time. She is pretty, but I don't think she is wood.

Big files though...

Beautiful pictures. Taken with a Leica?

Funny you mention that Norm...

I was thinking to myself as I shot the pictures that I really should have sprung for the D100 instead of this thing that I got...I hate crappy auto focus. My Nikon does have a digital view finder as well as the LCD screen, but as others have said, it is tough to see sharp focus. You are always a little unsure about what the camera is doing. Most of the range finders on Digital camera's are a joke these days. That's the reason that I went for the 5700 over the 5000.

As always the SLR is the only way to go.

I went back to 35mm too, the digitals are just too unforgiving, you never know what they're focusing on. Not many digitals have manual focus. My Olympus has three forced settings and I use one of them for every shot.

Noah, Where is the ferry? They always put the big double end ferry in that slip for the winter.

Mike, I don't know where the bigger ferry went. I think they may have stuffed it next to the other one as there is a second slip that it will fit into, though it's tight. If you are looking at the picture this would be on the far right just out of the frame.

I haven't gone walking around down there as it has been 5 below lately.

They moved this new boat in right before the harbor iced up.
