Yes I know.. its only thursday evening here, but tomorrow, if the forecast is correct, I'll be surfing past this rather lovely bay on the way to the Bay of Islands in the Coastal Classic.Us and 250 other boats. about 120 miles. Should be good but there's mention of 40 knots from the south so it will be a ride.

I've probably used this pic before but that bay... Whale bay is such a gorgeous spot.

Good luck John, I hope the weather stays good for you. Nothing forty feet or so couldnt handle.

*GALE WARNING IN FORCE* Northeast 30 knots becoming northwest 15 knots this evening, changing southwest 25 knots Friday morning then rising to 40 knots at night. Sea becoming very rough. Northeast swell rising to 3 metres for a time. Poor visibility in rain, easing tonight. Outlook following 3 days: Southerly 30 to 40 knots with very rough sea, easing Saturday. Becoming Sunday variable 5 to 15 knots.Moderate northeast swell,easing Saturday.

yersss... nice forecast :rolleyes: well, we'll just have to watch out for the squalls.Records will fall, so will a mast or two.. perhaps a cat or 3 will flip. There's a few mad buggers going.

We'll be fine , we're on a kauri Lidgard 42 cruiser. Destination has been offshore many times so she'll look after us.We have 4 kites!

I found one I had to upload .. therefore; I haven't used before.including a boid in flight.
