How to build a wooden ocean going trimaran in 48hours... on TV!

A few months ago, myself and a dozen friends from the 'San Francisco Maritime Museum' and the 'Arques School' were challenged for a reality TV show to build a boat and sail it out to the Farallon islands off San Francisco... in a gale... within just 72 hours.

The show... 'No Opportunity Wasted' is premiering tomorrow (Sunday Oct 3) on the DISCOVERY CHANNEL with our segment. It looks set to be fun half hour of boatbuilding on primetime national TV!

Sunday October 3rd : 8pm & 11pm (EST)
Saturday October 9th : 4pm EST
Sunday October 10th : 2pm EST

I watched it last night, they did a great job in an incredibly short time. The original premise seemed flawed, but they had sense enough to turn back.

I've been looking for the address to write and apply. Three grand would be just enough to outfit my 13' yawl for an insane solo trip across Lake Michigan from Muskeegon to Millwaukee. Let's see, 80 or so miles divided by a 3 knot hull speed equals :eek:
