I was in Chester on business today and while I was waiting for my client on the wharf by the Lido Pool, I took a few photos of the P-Class sloop "High Tide" anchored in the Back Harbour. I don't know much about this boat, but I believe that she is a sister ship to "Hayseed IV", which was designed and built in 1912 at City Island, New York. Both are a regular feature on the local racing circuit. The long overhangs are certainly distinctive.

And if this isn't her tender, it should be...

City Island is quite a place...great boat building history.

Those square deadlights are very distinctive. There were at least two similar boats at WB's Eggemoggin Reach Regatta. We could only marvel at the amount of light they must let into the salon.

Watching Joyant tack with those overhangs would be best described as water ballet.

I guess the yellow hull paint is what the owner(s) likes but wow, IMO she could be a MUCH prettier boat with another color choice.

I have seen a lot of those Universal Hull racers with the rectangular deadlights. I dont like it, but they are still beautiful boats.
