Alex sent me these four pictures of his newly launched Camden Class to post on the forum. Wow!

Look at that wake!

(His own "launch" posting: Camden Class Launched! (http://media5.hypernet.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=010217) )

What I wouldn't give to have somebody get a shot of MELINDA, like that first one, but with the Cascades or Olympics in the backround...

And this boat was built in what, about a year!?! Amazing...

You know, when I first found this forum, I was looking for ANYBODY who had any first hand experience of the three Crowninshield "knockabouts". Nothing. Now, including my own, I can think of at least three new builds, completed, and an original being bought by a forum member. Old B.B. and Mr. Burbank would be proud, I think....

True Love's original Dark Harbor 17 1/2:

Chip Flanagan's "modified" Dark Harbor 12 1/2 ("stretched" to 15' on the waterline and given a marconi rig at the owner's request):

And, of course, my own little Dark Harbor 12 1/2, MELINDA:

All three of the Crowninshield "Knockabouts", plus a new "variation", represented, quite recently, right here on the forum. How cool is that?

Don't you just love it when the photography does the boat justice. Nice going Alex.

Thanks Art for all of it.

That's a nice boat, Art/Alex.

Art - I will try to post some pics of the Dark Harbor sailing from this summer. If I can figure out how to do it. The first day I took her out on the bay along came a Northeast Harbor A boat - very pretty. We had a nice chat. Porpose came along and cleared the way for us and saw two bald eagles. Nice first sail. The wind picked up and we buried the rail on the way back to the harbor. Fun! Now if I could just figure out how to pick up the mooring singlehandedly w/o falling in. I don't make a very attractive bobber.

Beautiful boats - all of them. That first shot of Alex's boat scootin' along with her sails in fine trim is just great.

I am overcome.

That is one of my favorite designs from WB, and one I've considered a must-build.

And Lac Leman is my old beloved stomping ground, at least the Geneva end.

What a beautiful, beautiful thing you've done, Alexandre.

Thank you.

After getting the original batch of photos above, I told Alex that we'd all love to see more... Especially any construction photos he might have. Here's the latest:

I've really GOT to get a chase boat out with MELINDA one of these days...

(I also feel re-inspired to rig some running backs and talk to Ms. Hasse about a spinnaker... I love that all white "shute". Classy.
