I gather that she is now to be broken up in Glasgow. It is a shame that she can not be taken to Adelaide and restored along the lines of the SS Great Britain. Both ships took many of the early settlers to Australia. She is surely an irreplaceable part of Australian history that should be preserved.

She is in an awful state, and I think Britain has grown weary of ship restoration projects.

Wouldn`t it be possible to put her on a barge and take her to Oz if they were interested? She is pretty big but it was done with the SS Gt Britain years ago from the Falklands. Better still get the Australians to support the rebuild in Glasgow then take her to Oz!

If one has the money, one of the big salvors has a "dry dock" ship that can carry an entire US destroyer. It was used to move the USS Cole back to the US.
