I have just uploaded a photo album of pictures I took at Mt.Dora this year. It's about 173 pics and include (but notlimited to) Chris Crafts, Centurys, Gar Woods, Hackers, antique cars plus some odds and ends. As usual, it was great weather in Florida and a super show.

Special thanks to Tom Lang and Mark Weinberger for the incredible ride in the Gar Wood Speedster Replica that they built.

Enjoy,

Tom

BIG time drooling going on here. Thanks, Tom, but I couldn't get past #61. Went to a blank screen.

No Sea Skiffs at the show?

Workaround. I jumped to the end, and I'm backing through. Great pics!

Tom, I'm looking forward to going through your pictures. From what I heard it sounds like the "Jersey Speed Skiffs' made a pretty big showing there :D (I hope they were well behaved!)

Ned, the classic Jersey speed skiffs are at Mt. Dora every year and they just don't hang out with each other. All three days of the show these guys are giving rides to the general public and believe me, they don't hold back.

Wow- that's a bigger event than I realized, so now I really hate that I missed it!!

Our local Miata club (and a few MGs) had planned to drive up Sunday to see the boats- I felt bad for the event planners, because everything that could've gone wrong did. Everyone started with convertible tops down- then it started to rain. It also took WAAYYY longer than anticipated to get there, and also to get that many people fed at the small German bakery where we stopped for lunch. Also, that rain must've been part of a cold front, because the temp dropped to 40 or so Sunday night, and we were all in shorts!

Anyhow, we got up there about the time everyone else was leaving town, and so missed the whole event.

Ah, well, maybe next year, right? At least I can live vicariously through your excellent photos! Thanks for recording the event!

Matt,

If you go next year don't even try for Sunday. Alot of folks seem to leave early for some reason. Friday is ok and Saturday is the best. If staying overnight and you want to stay close to Mt. Dora then make your reservations as early as you can. We stayed in Lake Mary which was about 18 miles from Mt Dora and there were plenty of rooms their.

Yeah, I got the impression after being there on Sunday, and then seeing your pictures, that I had completely missed everything.

To be truthfull, I wouldn't have even known about it except that it was a club event- next time I'll know better, and make the trip with just my wife. She would appreciate all the antiques and the cool old houses in town.

One good thing for us is that it's only about a 2 hour drive from here, so we don't have to worry about hotels.

So, maybe we'll get to see you next year!

CC, Great shots. Most of the boats look like the should be in glass cabinets.

The boat with the gold tail fin, has an amazing finish. The boat with colour co-ordinated Terra Verte bumpers/fenders, I've not seen anything like it.

I think that I've just looked at every photograph on the site. Thanks for going to such effort. Fantastic photography, ... and keep out of the water, .

Warren.

ps, I use to have a little Grey Mini 850, like yours, ... I could 'never' get the heater to work.
