I know many of you dont go down to the bildge but mates from time to time someone posts something EXCELLENT!!!

its about the 1903... thats 1903 102 bloody years ago for cryin out loud!!... films by Tomas Edison of the waterfront man its sooooo friggin amazing!

I instantly thought of Dave Fleming when I saw this honestly I thought he would find this as amazing as I did as hes into old things tools pics and such these are original MOVIES!!! :cool:

This one has boats boats boats and bloody more boats schooners tugs ferrys dories whatever!! BOATS!!!

The images are kinda muddy. I wonder if he used a Leica camera to shoot that film?

Isn't the artist LeRoy Neiman? He did a number of art pieces which were sports related.

Edison did not invent the movie camera...although he took credit for it. The Sept 1900 Galveston hurricane aftermath was filmed by an edison associate who told the townfolk it was a surveying device..
The camera was invented by an african american gentleman, and was told by edison that he could never hope to sell it because he was black...and then cut a very lucrative deal (edison, for himself) that included not revealing who really invented it for a ridiculously long period, so that edison got the lion's share of royalties and all the credit for the invention...very similar to many of Edison's so called inventions.
