The Church of the Holey Wooden Boat was DESECRATED by ne're-do-wells today. An ancient relic was spirited out of it's place in the church by well equipped evildoers in a masterly planned escapade.

The nefarious deeds were CAUGHT ON FILM!

Hugh, that door panel is 49" wide. :( Can we make it fit?

Aha! One of the conspirators cross post with incriminating photos!

Sure, Steven. We can MAKE it fit! :D

(do we have a masonry saw?)

The panels are vinyl covered wood, right? maybe we could just trim an inch off each edge?

But...But... that would let the warranty escape!

As Henry Ford said when it was time to move his first car outside through a too-small door, "constructive destruction" :D

Henry might not have planned his project's egress, but this most blessed structure is designed to come apart like a jar of pickles....and be reassembled in minutes.

It functioned according to it's designed parameters, and is now safely secure in time for this weeks expected weather.

That reminds me, I want to sail a Beetle one day...

Good luck restoring her to sailing condition. There's a Beetle that has been sawn in half lengthwise (sadly) and mounted on a wall of a bar/eatery in Boothbay Harbor.

Voila... life-size half model.

Well, I wrote a rant about boat and tool desecration at the hands of interior decorators, and deleted it. I feel better now. No use in belaboring the obvious.

This Beetle is going to be a bit of a challenge, but they are such fun boats that a cost/value analysis is not part of the equation.

Besides, I get to buy and make some more tools!
