Now it's time to look for the red/green-glasses that you have used 20 years ago for the last time. If you found them, look at:

http://www.fky.org/prestodata/execsearch.php4?config=bild&mask=ext&search_url=cy43

(klick on the title to enlarge them)

It's the yacht METEOR IV which belongs to the last german emperor.

WARNING! You get headaches when you look at them without red/green-glasses...

Carita, Santanita, White Heather are some I think.

Great! Do you have the possibility to send me some scans of the plates? I am one of the administrators of the German yacht sports archive (http://www.yachting-history.org) and we are allways looking or new material that we can put online.

Our photo-database has about 4000 records but only some of METEOR. Direct link to database with english navigation:

Absolutely Ingo, I'll scan them and touch them up as I have access to a 1st class facility here. Pics date from the 1890's I think, Americas cup races, Cowes week etc. I acquired them in a barrel-top chest some 45 years ago in Melbourne, Australia. They were catalogued and I think part of a once larger collection. One of my favourite pics is one Lily Langtree, said to be the mistress of the king in her own private steam launch reviewing the fleet at Spithead.
I'll have to find which chest they are in now! :D
Would it be better if I sent a DVD?

Ingo, are there any pictures of the Kaiser's yacht "Carlotta"? My father served on her as a young naval cadet.

Blacksmith,

I did not found any yacht "Carlotta" that belonged to the Emperor. His wife owned a yacht "Iduna", anyway...

We have an extensive archive online at:
http://www.yachting-history.org/

Some sources where you can search on your own:

The Yearbooks of the "Kaiserlicher Yacht Club" from 1897, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1912, 1913, 1915, 1918 and 1925 are completely available as scans on http://www.yachtsportarchiv.de/verband/vereine/vereine.html
Several thousand pages. We linked the yacht-lists separately for your convenience...

At
http://www.fky.org/prestodata/search.php4?config=sch&mask=ext&language=eng
you find our complete register of yachts with >36,000 records. Not Carlotta at all, sorry.

We have scanned all pages of the german sailing magazine "Yacht" from 1904 to 1959. These 60,000 pages are available for free and you can search in the table of contents at:
http://www.fky.org/prestodata/search.php4?mask=ext&language=eng
A fulltext-search is available at:

John B,

"Leuchtkäfer" was a 60sqm "national cruiser" owned by the "Kaiserlicher Yacht Club". We know of only three of this boats that survived:

www.fky.org/prestodata/execsearch.php4?mask=rky&config=sch&search__identifier=schiffe&search_text_fields01=60qm%20Nation (http://www.fky.org/prestodata/execsearch.php4?mask=rky&config=sch&search__identifier=schiffe&search_text_fields01=60qm%20Nation) aler%20Kreuzer&search_registername=rky&language=eng

(Link in one line! WB forum is not able to handle that long URLs correctly :( )
All of these yachts are in Germany.
