So I profess that I have seen precious few Concordia's in person...There is one on the lake, and I finally got a good look...WOW!

In a previous life I worked as both a sculptor and a photographer, and I think that most people don't, or can't capture the beauty of a Concordia.

I didn't take these photo's, so they aren't quite up to my standards, but hopefully tomorrow night I will get to snap a few more.

Still, all I can say is wow. These boats have the sexiest stern of all time...or in the parlance of our times "baby got back!"

Anyway, I will post the pics now...

This last shot is what sets these fine ladies apart. It's a shame that few people take the time to show just how nice this stern is.

Margo, it is an honor to have someone dedicated to these wonderful boats here on the forum. I'm sure that you will succeed in getting Sarah back to where you want her.

There is a reason those boats fetch 150k ;)

Coriolis and Whimbrel, two brightwork Concordias sailed in yesterday when we were out sailing with my wife's cousins. Sheherezade has come back for 'warranty work' and all three of us were maneuvering around her during a perfect (mild temperature/moderate breeze/calm waters/uncrowded seas) afternoon.

Wish I'd had a digital camera

Yeah, these boats are stunning. I've not yet had the pleasure of sailing aboard one but understand they sail as beautifully as they look. As an aside, Elizabeth Meyer's book "Concordia Yawls, The First Fifty Years" is well worth owning if you're into these boats.

No, no...it's the sheer line!

No..wait, it's that big cockpit!

Naw, that's not it, it's the perfectly proportioned house crown.

The perfect freeboard height, those overhangs...

But the rig...

Aw geez, it's the whole package.

Time to cash in my plastic water bottles and buy a powerball ticket!

I've got a wee yawl that prompted me to go looking at these boats as in "maybe if I drain the 401K". That's a non-starter, but it would be nice. If you read some of the plastic sailboat mags, the price is not really out of line.
