As a reminder, this is a Bruce King designed, cold-molded, ketch rigged yacht built by Hodgdon Yachts in East Boothbay, Maine. She's 154' 6" LOA, has a beam of 28' 6" and displaces 588,415 lbs. Yeah, she's a big boat!

Scheherazade went down the ways today, (in the fog). It was a very impressive sight, (big understatement here) and she even comes equipped with her own pirate...

The commuter style boat is 'Liberty', another Bruce King/Hodgdon collaboration. Beautiful boat...great looking torpedo stern. BTW, Liberty is 80' LOA. She looks kinda small next to Scheherazade, huh?

Speechless... And in a classic Maine fog to boot! I'm glad they didn't do that in the same yard as my poor, wee, little project. Nobody would have noticed her!

Very fine photography, if you don't mind me saying, Skipper? There is true ambience, even felt here.

Warren.

ps, 'Scheherazade' was a wild one. Foggy days, mask, her character, but's what's in, a name?

pps, The thing(?) I like about sailing are(?), the superstitions, ... all of them.

RBGarr...I wouldn't call Malone a "piker." In addition to what you listed, he also owns a 6,000 acre farm in Colorado, andmost of Liberty Media Corporation, a $27B company. Then there's his News Corp holdings, and a variety of other securities investments.

Congratulations, Doug. You gonna take a vacation before the next project?

I had nothing to do with the construction of this boat - just went to the launch and snapped some pic's. Regardless, a vacation DOES sound good <g>.
