The 30th annual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous is taking place 10-11 Sept. on Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, MN. Hours are 10-4 on Sat. and 10-3 on Sunday. Admission is $5.00 for ages 14 and up and free for those under 14.
There will be some very unique boats there including a 54 ft. mahogany NYC commuter. One of the boats that was at the very first rendezvous 30 years ago will also be displayed. It is a 1929 Dingle triple cockpit runabout.
I'll be there with my '57 Thompson Sea Lancer with her twin engines and there is one other Thompson lapstrake registered. There is only one classic aluminum boat registered and as far as I know only one classic fiberglass one. There are NO spaces left, so don't show up with a boat on Saturday morning and expect to get in. Sorry.
A portion of the Rendezvous proceeds will be donated to the Hurricane Katrina American Red Cross Relief Fund and we will also be asking for spectators to make donations via a drop box at the show site.
