that's pretty much the way it is...screw the damn tv and radio news, the joneses and all the petty problems.....you lose a lot of weight, drink water, read real books and a helluva lot healthier than folks that eat fast food 3 times a day.......you remember the good times and tend to forget the bad...

I asked a New Zealand farmer if he'd ever cheated on his wife, and he looked sheepish

Good ole Fatty slipped that one by Cruising World. He hasn't changed much, since my VI days.

Chuck, don't make me ask you again: WHEN are you going to get writing!? ;)

Oh, and for the record, for a young and impressionable couple, not to mention somewhat jaded and disillusioned, a week aboard will give you about the same sensation - holy crap why do we live like this!? If it weren't for Lady, our adorable baby girl (the best kind - furry), we'd have left right there I think.

I hope this summer we get another week aboard.

Chuck; Any pic you ever took or anything you've ever written (including WBF posts ;) )1 is automatically your copyright. Registering your copyright helps recover punative damages in the event of a dispute, but does not confer anything really special. Copyright is automatically yours by right of creation.

Speaking of circumnavigation, what's the smallest sailboat you've circumnavigated in? How small would you go?

1 It's a funny thing about things you write and send to someone else or post in public: while you own the reproduction rights, the recipient owns the document and essentially neither party can reproduce the document without the other party's permission.

Hello Meer....first 3/4ths of first circumnavigation was in 27 foot boat.....which is really plenty unless you izz gonna do it non stop.......if you are gonna do it solo it's pretty close to ideal...but you are limited to cold showers, no air conditioning and it's fine for one, tight for two peeeples......I did it on about 200 bucks a month....now maybe 500 bucks..

Yup... Beware ye wannabe "sailors". A lifestyle built around the sea just plain ruins you for anything else...
