Does anybody have any information about Harkers Island Boatworks? I think they may have been out of business for some time. We are considering purchasing a 58' Gilliken design charter vessel constructed by Harkers Isl. Boatworks in 1961, Honduras Mahogony plank on Long Leaf Yellow Pine and Monel fastened.

What do you need to know? The one with the Beaufort address is not the same fellow that built that boat. He handles all of the shrimp boats and working railway now. Vance was the father that built that one. James, son, is still building strip and cold mould. Ricky is doing high end work in sportfishermen finished to yacht specs.
