Not the big buggar Id planned when we moved here but none the less big enough for the tools... not much room for one to move around in but the tools are safe and sound in there!!... scuse the mess my bad! ;)

The side door where the F100 is backed up to faces the humpyhoochy for access to the "boatshed" and timber storage area

I also had an interesting conversation with the noddy that owns the place that backs onto our property behind the shed and seems hes interested in selling the back section with the shed and wants to know if Im interested... His timings shocking eh?... but Im interested no worries another shed? yep I'll go!! :D So hopefully in a month or so I can rig up a nice walkway from the new shed to the one behind it which will lead to the humpyhoochy... then its just a matter of getting a bobcat (skidsteer loader) and move the seatainer to where I need it to be and bobs yer friggin uncle more sheds than a fella has the right to ask for

The humpyhoochy is my next project as the storms weve had over the last 8 or so months have taken their toll on it as can be seen... Im considering getting a stack of used corrigated iron and covering it that canvas stuff is way over priced good stuff but expensive

Chaos doesnt do justice to the mess in there!... Bedlam is a giggle for whats been let loose in the darkened reaches...

Ive put my tools in (albeit still have to drag the old table saw in) and theres just almost maybe close to nearly almost enough room... maybe?... well as long as I dont breath!! :D

Next is getting the final trim on then gettin the shire council engineer to come inspect our handiwork and give the nod (or not  ) after which I will sort it out and start really getting seriously into makin STUFF! ;)

Great going Shane, my shed is staggering along owing to the weather being so good for sailing. That said I tacked across the bay for 2 hours to get a nice run home. Then the wind shifted and I barely made it before the tide stranded me!
Racks for the boats next, (after the new deck at home so Anne says).

Well I shot of out there and started muckin about sortin an makin it tidier... still got one third to go... Im sorta goting through the gear as I come to it some will be relegated to some hidden corner while others will move no doubt as I find use need whatever

The set up after weve finish the shed isnt bad actually it gives me one third for benchwork lathe and sanding drilling... and two thirds for the heavier tools

Im getting a wee 10ft x 10ft shed this weekend and will set it up just outside the side door... for a dust collection unit and compressor house which young Ben has offered to wire up for me so I just flick a switch and I get either the dusty on or the compressor (depending on which switch I hit of course)

A bloke from one of the jobs came round the other day and offered me his shed which he doesnt want to leave behind when he sells but I will have to go up the road to the next town take it down and bring it back he reckons its about double this one... havent been to see it but he reckons it will be ideal for a hay shed... and as I dont have nor have any real intention of getting any hay I reckon will probably be ideal for the boat shed

I hope to get there this weekend and have a gander and make the deision

Anyway... Camera in hand I tredidisiously offer the innards of me new shed! :D

Sorry about pic quality but mates its humid and hot as hell here just now... and its a wee dance tryin to hold a coldie in one hand and havin a drink while tryin to take a pic while havin left ones specs in the house!

That is a nice shop. smile.gif A suggestion, although it might not be a problem down there where it is usually hot and dry. I have a metal roof on my boat shed and when the air has high humidity, the moisture condenses on the inside of the roof and drips down, making stains on the boat and rust on any tools that happen to be where it drips. So I recommend putting a poly ceiling on the inside of the roof, this will let the moisture run down the poly to where you can control where it drips. ;)

Well now Ken I hadnt thought of that... will give it due consideration... however! I dont think Im going to have much room left to actually build any boats IN the shed... its taken up with the tools! ;) I do now have a 20ft x 8ft ply floored area in the humpyhoochy where the tools were which I think will be near perfect for boatbuilding!

But I get your reasoning and I will look into it... Im going to cover the walls with ply over jarrah boards sometime in the next month or so... but hadnt considered the roof... other than the intention to get a couple of those whirly thingys that sit up there to stir the air around

keep the ideas flowing mate!

Cheers!

I have the same problem Ken mentioned in my big shed, drip, drip ,drip when the humidity is high.Take care of the machined surfaces of all that nice new irn,I use a thick mix of beeswax and turps, it makes a very good protective and doesn't hurt the wood.

In the last small shed I built, its a foundry,30 'x 10',I stapled polyester aluminium sided insulation roll to the undersides of the roof and inside of the walls. It brilliant! smile.gif Cool and no drips and the polyester doesn't inch like that shitty glass pink stuff :(

Lookin' good Shane.

Now a cheap easy leanto out the side, the traditionasl look is poles and old ,old tin with a Susan under it smile.gif smile.gif

KEEERYST......I built my first 31 tri in a 12 x 12 room (frames, centerboard case, centerboard, rudder etc) and when spring came built the strongback just outside the door....only power tools wuz a skilsaw, sabresaw, power plane, belt sander and electric drill.....lotsa rubber bands from inner tubes and wedges....I could build the ark with all that stuff....and I diddit in 2 college semesters....and worked a full time job...
