Random Orbit Woes

My Porter cable Quicksand is sick. I had to replace the little drive belt and now it will not run with any load. The motor runs fine without load. I took the housing apart and blew out all the dust. The brushes look fine and so do the windings as far as I can see. Any experience with these motors? Is this thing cooked? Thanks, Rick :confused:

Rick, Could the fault lie with the rubber "shock transmitters" turning hard from age? I had a similar problem with an old Bosch sander recently which was solved by replacing the 4 rubber thingies.

Ive had a shit pot full of troubles with all my PC quicksands. Usually its the bearings that crap out first. Also the little dust collector doo hickey will not stay on when its running which means I have to hold the dust collector doo hickey on with one hand and runn the sander with the other. I am not all that impressed with PC products and I own others.

This one has been a workhorse for me, maybe it's just reached the end of its natural life. Rick :(
