Sod' Law of the Sea, part 2

Thank you, who ever you were, for the reminder of what a great book is “Sod’s Law of the Sea”. I was moved to dig out my copy for the first time since 1978. It is, as you hinted a terrific book .
One problem,,,,,,,,, I was distressed to discover that many of my better sailing anecdotes seem to have been filched from the pages of Messers Lucas and Spedding’s noble tome. How can this be? I remember clearly them happening to me,,,,,,,,,,
