Originally in Designs/Plans:

For my first job after college I lived and worked on a couple of pulling boats at the Chewonki Foundation in Maine for a few summers. In 2000 I lived on the Mackinaw boat "Guillemot" (LOD 29') as the "captain" with six teenage kids for two months.

and travelled with a companion Crotch Island Pinky named "Petrel".

It was a great experience for the kids to live outside, see the water, pull at the oars, and sleep on board.

I loved it for all the same reasons. Plus, how better to spend a summer than this?:

Does anyone else have pulling boat photos/stories to share?

Ahh - always great to see the Spritsail rigg at work.

If you think about all those people that believe the Bermuda rigg is the only rigg there is...
