Thanks again to those that gave input on our troubles with our boat. Everything is great now. The boat is running well, and the trim tabs made a world of difference. We've been using and enjoying it as much as possible and are planning a week long fishing/camping trip on the boat on Lake Huron at the end of the month. Here's a pic on the water at our last outing. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid132/pd398c4889c040f195512160254177eb9/f7973fe5.jpg

Martin,
Just realized we never answered your question in our last thread. We're in the South Bend area.

Bump.

Things have a way of dissappearing about halfway down the page.

Nice to see the boat. I didn't realize it has a cabin. Nice looking boat. Glad we were able to sort through the trim problem. I assume you just removed the trim tabs? That sounds right to me. I doubt very much the boat was originally equipped with them, and hull developement had arrived at pretty good shapes for the usage by the time the boat was built.

Have fun! I think it will be a fine little weekender/fishing boat. Economical to run, roomy enough for a day fishing party of five or so, an overnighter for a couple and a kid or two, quite able if well handled. Great stuff. smile.gif

We removed the spring loaded tabs, and now have a set of Lenco electric tabs installed. Not sure they were really needed, but they are nice to have. The end of the month will be the boats first trip (at least under our care) on the Great Lakes. I'm really looking forward to it. I miss the days of cruising Lake Erie on dad's Chris Craft.

Skiffcraft had a go at volume (more than one) production of the Joel White "Fox Island" 22' daysailer. Anybody got a photo or more experience w/ same?

Absolutely beautiful.
Thats an Ohio boat, built by Amish craftsmen. smile.gif
I took a tour of their facility last year and it was like going back in time. Watch out for mean old Lake Erie and wear your PFD. ;)
