From the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (Halifax, NS) website:
Valkyrie: Restoring a Stevens Class Sloop
The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is restoring Valkyrie, the fifth of six “S” Class sloops built in 1946 by famed Nova Scotia boatbuilder David Stevens, in the Boat Shed on the wharf. The boat was generously donated to the museum in 2001 by the Murphy family of Halifax. Museum staff will restore the vessel to its original beauty and plan to relaunch her in the summer of 2006 when the “S” Class sloops turn 60.
The boat will be completely dismantled and reassembled retaining as much as 60% of the original structure. The work will entail the removal and fabrication of a new keel, sternpost and deck. Following her launch, museum staff will use the vessel as a flagship in celebration of David Steven’s boat building legacy.
You can follow the progress of the work on Valkyrie from start to launch day on a special web page which shows the various stages of restoration.

PLEASE NOTE!!
Valkyrie will be relaunched on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the beach at Second Peninsula, near the site of David Stephens' boatyard.
This will be a traditional tidal launch so please meet at 4 pm for a few words of welcome prior to the tide being just right.
