Today at 13:20 EDT the "Carrianne" logged her 1'000 hour sailing. I figure that's probably 2,500 miles since 1997.
Carrianne just anointed with Champange by skipper JD

And now the crew (skipper not shown) toast to happy sailing ahead.

Thanks guys.
Todd, Notice I didn't raise the jib for fear of getting some champange on it. Got the top mast made plus the rigging and sheeting arrangement but the source of a trial sail fell through. Thinking of making a quicke blue tarp sail cut to the calcuated dimensions to see how it fits in the intended way. ;) Then figure how practical it all is before I go ahead with a real top sail.

.
Goodonyer, Jack.
And good on Carrianne too.
If you go on staying ourtside of the bubbly, and she goes on staying outside of the briny, who knows how long you'll go on for?

What motley crew!! ??
Wayne and others, a log book is fun even in a little boat like mine. smile.gif With a ditital camera you can insert pix taken during a sail, keep a log on the weather experienced and whatever happens during the sail. Fun to back read on long cold winter evenings. For the most part it is boring but there are many exciting moments in the past 1,000 hours including two dismastings, near collisions, groundings and capsizings My log which includes construction data, now fills up a 3 ring binder and will have to start a new one. I think if signed and hand written in ink it is acceptable as evidence in court , God forbid any need for that.

Excellent! Now we'll have to race the Marjie B. and Carrianne from Stony creek harbor out around Outer island, and back. (handicapped of course!) BTW, Sutton sails in Milford did a good job on my sails. Fast and fairly inexpensive....
