I looked through the searches but still can't find the answer to this problem: I sanded down some 45-year-old mahogany and stained it with Minwax, which raised the grain. Sanding it down left the stain blotchy. Minwax said there's no patch, do it again. So how do I seal it?
Guy at the hardware store said the stain sold as "natural" is actually a sealer. Haven't tried that yet.
