I'm cleaning up a bit and wonder what is a good alternative to selling on eBay? Or, does shipping on something that heavy cancel any returns? Thanks, Jim

Any WaterCraft or The Boatman? I never see those on Ebay. WoodenBoat seems to show up regularly.

Craigslist can be an alternative, as it is more "local" in character and buyers live close to sellers. You can get some dodgy types there as anywhere, and it has fewer protections than eBay against scam artists / crooks.

Yes, Paladin, I think giving them away to a good home is a better idea. Too bad that SmallBoat Journal got ruined by glitz and motors. I loved that magazine in the old days.

Steven is quick with the e-mail. I'll be dropping them off to him the next time I'm blasting through Portland.
There may be a misunderstanding of what I'm cleaning out. I have issues 51 through 66 of SmallBoat Journal. It was published here in Bennington until May of 1989 when it was sold to the same people that do Golf Digest.
Many of us were disgusted with the way it changed from sailboats and human-powered craft to plastic motor craft. I know, more money.
When it was sold and moved, they gave all of the old employees bound copies of 1 through 66 which someone recently gave me.
That is how I came to be cleaning out my old copies. The WoodenBoat back issues are safely stowed for constant re-reading.
