Since this thread is mostly nonsense I'll go off topic and ask our Welsh contributor if Percy is still among the living.
I am a great fan of his because he seemed to be able to knock out "how-to" books on every craft imaginable.
His boy scout kayaks are wonderful projects.

Sorry, but I couldn't say My school build a few of his canvas-on-stick back in the early 1960s (!) and I paddled these as an introduction to kayaks in 66/67. Good boats if you're in no hurry.

"Who (do we congratulate): Her mother, aka SWMTMH? I make no claim of responsibility, nor will I take one if offered.
Details... I dunno. She finishes Bates this year, is currently in Nicaragua where she is working on establishing business relationships between local Nicaraguan producers of, mostly, hand crafts, and college bookstores in the US (acting as a consortium) to enable some gringo money to find it's way into the pockets of the producers in lieu of various and sundry money-grubbing "middle-men".
Oh, and she's the secret apple of her daddy's eye. ;)
