Hey folks, Pierre sent me some pics to post for you guys. I gather these boats are built from teak and man they are pretty.

Thanks a lot Steven,

Well, in short:

23' is the front deck of a 23' launch dutch type, full teak. Big hassle, and never to be done again. Clinker planking, sika flex,... no epoxy just multiple PU coats. I swear I never see one like this here again.

14" is actually not by teak but by Yellow balau/west sandwich. Why? I had no plan (except under the water line), so all was "designed" step by step. The hull was finished, I had no clue how many people or how big the cockpit would be :p . Colour strips are made of pine wood  . But this was just a test, and everybody likes him. PS YB has over 1.00 density  .

But again, just did not wanted to spend on teak for a trial... It fits an outboard of hum let us say.. max 30hp? Anything getting out is on a no claim base :D .

Sea Kayak are 17' and only 27 Kg. Full teak sandwich core, air ballasts, brass stem. 500 working hours about) None follows me with my 95Kg, as it is so finely shaped. Open sea is fantastic. We have done more than 15 pieces and all happy (except the 2-3 first ones had some whitish blurr in the epoxy). For my own use, my paddles are in pine and are lighter than the carbon fiber of my friends (maybe not as strong, but enough).

Than to a (no picture here) 12" rowing boat, no epoxy, just lacquer, brass fittings (400 hours). If you like classic boats, you should pull out a tear :p .

And now working on a 20" speed boat (I prefer not to know how many working hours, because it is now soon 6 months). Again, no idea how it will look like, as I changed all from a 26"design. Actually, it will have nothing to do with that 26". No clue how the cockpit will look like. But my sketch looks good. Will have the option of a stern drive or a V shaft. But that I will let the guy who wants to do it. Again, no claim basis. I am already dreaming to drive it on saigon river. But knowing it is a no claim,... I will better sell it. Anyway, quite confident on the over-strength.

boat is just a very secondary activity, generating only pleasure (no bucks), so I feel no hurry and no stress.... just pride. But behind this, although the result looks fantastic, I am complete moron in boat building.

Thanks for reading me.
