Keep on Flying

Reading in a farming magazine about getting birds away from crops, the latest idea is to not throw away those AOL and other CDs that come in the mail, but to string them up on a line to flutter and flash in the breeze and to frazzle bird nerves. The same ought to keep sea gulls from alighting, squatting, carousing, pooping, and the like on your boat. Just string up a collection from stem to stern. Ohhhh? You knew this already and you cleaned WalMart out of its freebie CDs?

Haven't used them on a boat but I do have them haning from fishing line outside my kitchen windows to keep birds from flying into the windows and killing themselves.
Actually I use disk that I've taken out of old harddrives, they are metal and also work as a wind chime it you hang them close enough together. They look the same as CDs and CDs would be easier to come by. A lot of folks data is hanging outside my window...actually works pretty good. Some birds, like some forumites here, are just too stuborn so they fly through anyway and become statistics. Oh well, I do the best I can.

At a native American Pow Wow I saw some folks wearing elaborate feather pieces radiating out from a shiny center which was the unprinted side of a CD.
