Simmons Sea Skiff Expo 2006

The 5th Annual Simmons Sea Skiff Expo will be held in conjunction with the Cape Fear Community College Wooden Boat Festival this year.

It will take place on Saturday, July 29th at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. We hope to have at least 30 original and reproduction Simmons Skiffs, plus a variety of other wooden craft. Many of the boats will be displayed in the water, though some will be on their trailers.

Also on display will be hand-built paddles, made by students at the college, and a collection of vintage outboard motors.

What is a "reproduction" Simmons Sea Skiff? Fiberglass?

These are wooden boats built to plans made from actual Simmons boats. Bottom to top of first side plank may be fiberglassed for abrasion resistance depending on environment of use.
