replacing a divot

I have just purchased a wooden rowing sailing boat of lapstrake construction. One of the planks has a small piece gouged out where it joins the transom. Part of the "divot" is still firmly attached to the plank.

My question is what product should I use to replace this "divot." The plank is tamarack with a varnish finish.
