If any of you have recieved your study plans for "Wanderlure II" from the Alden office it will show the boat rigged with a gaff fore. We added six feet to the fore and two feet to the bow sprit when the boat was re rigged as a staysail schooner. This was a marked improvment over they way she sailed before. The boat came alive and became a giant killer! All bulkheads are set in on top of the ceiling and held in place with cleats in the form of quarter round molding. This allows the hull to twist and go a bit more easily than her slower sister ship
"Medley" with her fixed bulkheads. Her interior is also lighter than that of "Medley", it being set up for week ends and not globe circling voyages. I would guess that
"Wanderlure II". Is nearly 1,000 pounds lighter.
Pictures will be comming at the end of July.

Jay,
SWMBO & I will be house sitting for a friend in PT from 1 Aug to 15 Sept and I need a boatbuilding task(s) (unpaid of course) to keep me off the streets and outa her hair.
After retiring from AT&T in 03, I did the last 6mos. class at the wood boat school on Otto St. but not much practice since except vacations visiting my daughter in Seattle and volunteering at the CWB on L. Union.
Any ideas?

I am in the phone book so please feel free to give me a call when you are in town. Additionaly, we are always in need of volunteers at the Wooden Boat Foundation.

Jay,
I'll call you when we get to town. SWMBO tells me it'll be more like 5 or 6 Aug.
What are WBF volunteers up to these days?
Thanks,
Tom
