Okay, the kids are getting old enough to actuallyl somewhat help me ... so I am looking for any recommendations for a 16-19' s&g center console skiff ...
I've looked closely at the ones glen-l offers ... but am wondering if there is other input.
It's something that will keep the kids excited, as s&g tend to take shape rather quickly ...
Anyway, I like the semi-V, but flat bottom could also work ... for river use/lake use ...
The 15 foot hobie power skiff has been sold ... and I need a replacement ... one that I will build, but 15' was just a little small ...
Any thoughts? Ideas? Simpler is better for a boat like this ... for my needs.
Brad
Go to Jaques's home page. He has quite a collection of S&G boats and probably has what you are looking for. I built my first boat from a set of his plans.

And if you get hung up you can go to http://209.190.4.227/forum/ and ask for clarification from the designer himself
Check out my post below... Tracy Obrien can supply plans for whatever you need...just tell him the parameters and you will get a design that is strong, not overbuilt, and will incorporate whatever capabilities you need for very reasonable cost. He may have something in his files that meets your needs and his plans are very well priced.

This is a good one. I've heard good second hand reports about how it builds and performs.

And don't forget to look at Jeff Spira's plans. He's got flat bottom carolina dories, v-bottom carolina dories, pacific dories, S&G skiffs, deep-v boats, etc.

That's definitely a nice looking boat and I believe there's a smaller version (a 17-footer, maybe). The designer/builder escapes me at the moment, but the Sea Hoss skiffs were/are nice, although you'd have to adapt the design to S&G. The original ones were flat bottomed, but I believe there were plans to design a V-bottom as well. Robert Stephens also designed a couple of nice boats in that size range but they too would have to have their construction modified. Bolger/Payson has that clamming skiff (also flat-bottomed).
