Is it the Sheridan S. Badger?

Yes, it is the "Sheridan S. Badger" built by Squeeky, the Swiss Elf.
The boat once belonged to Stan Badger, a commercial artist, who lived aboard for many years. The boat was origionaly named the "Elizabeth A. Badger" after Stan's wife. They got divorced and Stan renamed the boat after his father. Stan had an easil set up in the main salon where he would do his illustrations for various fashon publications. He had a pet sea gull, with a broken wing, named "Boy". The bird could, most often, be seen perched on the end of the main boom next to a water and food bowl that Stan had rigged for him. Some say that gulls can't be tamed but this one loved to get petted and would daintily eat squid and anchovy cuttings out of stan's hand. The boat had a brick fire place and a shipmate stove that kept the interior dry and snug during the winter fog and rains.

I spoke to Chester who told me that the boat will go to landfill in a few days, it no one takes it. In so much that this is a famous boat and is some 80% restored, It would be a shame to see it broken up just because of a parting of the ways between the owner and his wife!

Boats of all kinds often end up as the 'abandoned children' of divorces.

My wife's cousin died and left us a seagull to feed. His name is Iggy (Ignatius) and will take food from our hands. My wife can get real close to him and stay there, but he won't let her pet him yet. This spring he'd carry his food down to the rocks where he'd hold it in his beak for his mate to take...sometimes. He will stand on the firewood pile on the porch calling out when he sees us walk by inside the house. He's shameless about pretending he hasn't been fed yet. I might feed him, then my m-i-l, then my wife and none will know the other has done it. He's very territorial and possessive about us (human meal-tickets) and some feathers have flown when interlopers stopped by.

Yeah rbrarr and I have some swamp land for sale for you!
This was a no shit deal. Sadley the boat will be broken up!
I only hoped to do something for it because it was a keen boat that I have known since I was a kid! You win and the boat looses. So much for historic preservation!

I considered buying her back in the mid 80's. She was tied up in Channel Islands for quite a while and friends docked nearby let me know when she came up for sale.

The day we went to see her a winter storm was up and the first thing you heard down below was water dripping into the pots and pans spread around the saloon to catch deck leaks.

At the time she was in pretty good shape, although I didn't care for the engine compartment dividing up the accomodations.

I thought it over for about 3 months while working in So. America, but when I got back to the States she was gone. Probably just as well, I didn't know squat about wooden boats back then.
