I bought the plans for my Haven 12 1/2 in 2000. In order to have a community of other Haven builders to comiserate with, I started www.HavenBuilders.com that same year. I launched my Haven last week (I still have to make the spars) and I wish to thank all the members of the site who helped me along the way. A more congenial group of boat builders would be hard to find!

:D What a lovely boat. I can hardly wait to see pictures of your Haven under sail. You can be rightfully proud.
She's a real charmer. More pics please.

Looks like you did a beautiful job on a beautiful design.
Going to be taking it to any of the boatshows around here?

Tom,
The Algonac boat show was last Saturday. I think it is always the third Sat in June, at the old Chris Craft plant, now called the Laguna Marina.
There is also a Port Huron wooden boat show held the Sat after Labor Day in the Black river behind St Clair County Community College.
Also the Wallaceburg, Ontario WAMBO show is in the middle of August.
All these would be a long boat ride from Grosse Pointe in a Haven 12 1/2 but they all have trailer boats on display too. IMHO They rarely have anything as interesting as your boat.

She has a retractable Minn-Kota electric trolling motor mounted on the transom. The control unit is in the lazarrette, with the speed control handle protruding about 2 inches from the aft bulkhead:

Just out of curiosity, what is the voltage and thrust of the Minn Kota, and the weight of the boat? I'm hoping to rig a dismountable one on my dory, just like yours otherwise.

I'm using a 42 pound thrust Minn-Kota trolling motor on a 12 volt deep discharge battery. Displacement is 1409 lbs. The entire top of the motor is mounted in the lazarette:

For a minute, I was thinking hey, the Woods Park. But no, the seawall is wrong.
It is a very attractive boat! Congratulations!

A thing of beauty. Great job!
Beautiful boat, Tom. I wish I were that far along in my project. I'm hoping to turn my BB14 over in a couple of months.

We love the Woods Park, but the picture was taken at Crescent Sail Yacht Club.
