OK, why can't I paste anything into this forum any longer?? I have tried numerous times to paste from a word, wordpad, notepad documents and can't find a way to do it any more. There HAS to be a way, but I can't find it.

I think library paste is the wrong material.
In the "Quick Reply" window:
I just tried <Contol>C and <Control>V . That worked.

Could it be that I am using Firefox and not IE??
Well looky there! Control C and V worked fine. Why not make it simple with a right click and paste???
OK, I am going to be working with Sam on designing a mahogany runabout (he is doing the designing, I provide input).
I am thinking of something in the 17-18 foot range, plumb bow, plenty of tumblehome (take a look at Tom Lathrops 'Scamp').
In an effort to keep it looking sleek, I am researching poweplants. Rather than hanging an OB on it (which is probably what will happen) I am thinking of one of the jet drive units in the larger PWCs. Key here is 'size'. It has to be small enough to fit in the boat without taking up a lot of room, which would defeat the design priorities.
I have been told that the only unit for sale (aftermarket) is the Mercury Sportjet (175hp). I am still waiting to here from them regarding size, mounting, etc (their site lacks a lot of information). These have the power plant ,mounted right on top of the pump, which keeps the unit short, but it also looks like it may be too tall in this configuration to allow us to keep it below the deck..
I am also told that a powerplant out of one of the larger PWCs would have plenty of power, reverse thrust, etc. I cannot locate anybody that sells these units.
Any thoughts, ideas, input, suggestions?
Now that I now how to paste, I guess I better start another thread being as I can't change the title now.

For regular cutting and pasting just click on the square box in the upper right hand corner of the shaded reply window that has an A/A in it. Then you can C&P all you want.

Well, what do you know, that did it. The little hidden feature. I now have mouse control. :)
Thanks all. :)

Firfox is a little twitchy with the forum. Sometimes I can't even click in the window to respond.

As much as I prefer Firefox for browsing (Mac OSX), I'll agree that it can be strange on this forum. Sometimes the Back arrow won't work, and occasionally my insertion point for replies is several inches below the box -- still puts text where it belongs, just appears "outside the box"...
Just looking at the now upside-down display on my Blackberry (who knows why it did that??) and thinking about feature-bloat as the curse of current software.
I'll betcha anything that 90% of most device users can only operate 10% of the features on their software-enabled devices -- whether those devices are cellphones, computers, digital cameras, or whatever. Not something our forefathers faced, that's for sure!

If you want a jetskeet motor and pump, why not buy an old skeet and throw away everything but the mechanicals? Find one some jerk has wrecked. Support the controlled harvest of jetskeets.

Tom - I was going to suggest that also, but then realized that I *think* he's working with Sam on a repeatable/commercial design, so anything they use needs to be easily available to other builders, hence the focus on the aftermarket PWC motor.
