Non-adhesive bedding compound?

Hey folks,

I need to install a new transom on my Bank dory. Looking for recommendations on a good non-adhesive bedding compound to go between the transom and the stern knee. Any thoughts? Also, should I prime the entire transom with red lead, or just the edges?

Dolfinite bedding compound. You might as well red-lead the whole transom while you've got the paint out anyway.

Don't see a location for you, Ngrace, but if you are in the US, you can get Dolphinite bedding compound at Waste Marine and other sources. Ditto the above recommendation on the red lead.
