I need to find a reasonably priced source for good quality silicon bronze frearson flat head wood screws. I also need to be able to order small quantities of some, (such as 3" #12) where I only need a couple and don't want to waste money. Any recommendations?
I bought many hundreds from Jamestown supply. In my case I bought square drive. Good service and you can buy just few if that is all you need. That was my case for the larger sizes

Alas, last time I ordered I learned that Jamestown no longer sells small quantities of screws. The ones I sought only were sold in boxes of 100.
Steve: That's not good news. If you just need a few of the larger sizes, that could get pretty expensive. I hope someone knows of a place that will sell in small quantities

Hamilton Marine, as of a few months ago anyway, was still selling ones and twos. Not the selection of Jamestown but better than nothing.

I did some price comparison recently & posted in this thread:

As I recall from my search, only Bolt Depot (http://www.boltdepot.com/) would sell individual pieces.

As I recall, Hamilton Marine was willing to sell in ones and twos over the counter as of a year or so ago, but I don't know about mail order.

Glen-L sells a limited range of "cross head" silicon bronze screws by the dozen.

I have been using bronze fastners supplied by Lavender Fasteners,
for the past forty years. Good people to deal with! They have copper rivets as well.
