Does anyone in London fancy a run up the river from Limehouse Basin to Richmond (about 20 miles) TODAY, departing around 1600, arriving around 2000? I am motoring my Montagu Whaler up to the start of tomorow's Great River Race. My companion dropped out, and whilst I can take her on my own, it's 4 hours or so with no conversation, and no-one else to help tend her lines etc. See the boat here (http://www.wappingwhalers.org). Lifejackets provided, lights carried of course as it will be dark on arrival. Call me on 07990 573160 if interested.

Have a good trip Dick! Wish I could make it for the ride and the conversation.

I stayed in Richmond, right beside the river, my first night in England. There were some lovely little river boats tied up there. An old man in a pub gave me a 2-hour history of the river in that area. Fascinating.
