Last week while driving up to the rowing event in Rockland I had a Harry Bryan moment. :) We were driving along on the I-295 and we approached a car ahead with three (3!) Harry Bryan boats. A Handy Billy on a trailer and 2 Fiddlehead canoes on a roof rack. So we
are talking about how nice they look and what a great designer Harry is when my cell phone rings and it's a woman calling from Toronto to ask me about the Bryan designed Thistle that I built. She saw my posts here and had a few questions and was interested in seeing my boat in the water. I'm not sure she can make it here this season so I thought I'd take a video clip for all to see. Some of you may remember my posts from 2003 when I built Minnow:

So anyway I hope this works. I put a little clip up on Youtube:

Let me know what you think.

I think serendipity happens and mind is a powerful force. And Harry is a good guy with good boats too.

Oh that was cool, I've never seen one in action before.:)

Man, youtube could take the forum to a whole different plane, just wait till Smalser starts posting 'how to' videos.:D

Sorry the video quality is so poor.
Here are some recent pics of the boat.

233 views here on the forum and 93 views of the video on YouTube. I guess lots of people have dialup. :) The video is a little shaky 'cause Mary took it from her kayak with a regular digital camera, not a video camera. It was the first time I'd taken the GPS out in the Thistle. It was amazing how quickly I could get up past 5 knots. Not that I could keep it there very long. :D But I could almost effortlessly maintain 2.5. :) If we leave the big pig roast early I may try to get out for a sail with the Rushton batwing sail tomorrow. I wonder what the GPS will show under sail.
