Or maybe it's more popular than I realize, but her's my youngest and her 3rd grade class donning survival suits and taking some instruction on abandoning ship...

Looks like fun as long as one doesn't have to do it. What tides do you get there. The galvanized posts for the floating dock look pretty tall.

Most the time, the tide only ranges 8-9ft. I'm thinking max range is around 14ft. Not too bad, but ya got to plan ahead.

reminds me or the itme we took to survival suits out during a swim call, and preceeded to nearly drown while trying to get in them while in teh water :P

Great, practical, field trip. I bet the kids will never forget it. Great photos as usual. Now let's see, down here I suppose a "survival" field trip might be how to survive the mosquitoes and sand flies when lost in a mangrove swamp. Years ago a neighbor's kid, six years old, got lost in a mangrove swamp near a public beach. He covered himself with leaves and mud for the night and was found the next day in pretty good shape.
