PK 78 launching

Hey folks! It's been quite a while since I've visited these postings for your expert advice. Thanks to all for the asists. Well, it took more than a year, but the little PK78 (designed by Jacques Mertens) that my daughter (now 6) and I built finally kissed the water for the first time on Wednesday. What a rush! If the feeling of skimming along or nimbly maneuvering under oar weren't enough reward, the ear to ear grin on my daughter's face and her sense of pride and accomplishment definitely made it all worth while. We blew through three rolls of film and half an hour of videotape documenting the event. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as the film gets back. Thanks again for all the help! WAHOO!!!

I still remember young Cinty's face when we launched canoeythingy AMAZING!!! a sheer joy! ;) whether that was her bein alone and first in the boat givin her gloating points over the others or the fact that it actually floated!! Im not sure but it was a heck of a day :cool:
