Hello I came across a boat today that can be acquired for free but am not able to get it myself. It is approximately 20 feet long clinker built sailboat. I do not know if there is any rig with her. Her hull appears to be in rough shape (badly weathered) but surprisingly sound. She has a little cuddy cabin type arrangement which looks to be glassed. I am afraid I do not know much else but Can try and find out more if anyone is interested. It is in Penetanguishene Ontario.

Ok I have a bit more info, and will be getting it on woodenboatrescue.org when I get the chance. I have been up here for a few weeks working on the schooners here. I was done today looking at another boat and have a little more info. It was built some time around 1912. I confirmed there is no engine (it used to have an inboard) or rig with it. I did not have the time to do anything more then another quick look but there is no obvious rot, a few planks are splitting and as I said before everything is fairly weathered. interesting hull shape somewhat reminiscent of an old life boat but with a transom and a more shapely aft section. It is stored with no protection it looks like it had a cover at one point but it has been gone for some time by the looks of it (lots of leaves in the cockpit). It is at Dutchman's cove Marina and is visible from the road right on the edge of the property next to the marina next door.
I am leaving tomorrow and have no camera but I have someone who is going to try and get some pictures for me, that may be some time though.
If anyone has any questions I can see if I can find answers.

IIRC,Dave Hadfield keeps(kept?) his boat at Dutchman's Cove.
He may know more.

If it's the one I'm thinking about, 've seen that boat -- it was sitting up at Dutchman's a few years ago. I asked Bob (the manager) about, and he said that the owner was still paying storage on it.

Colin, I'm fairly close to there, and I'm be interested in having a look at her. I've got lots of storage available. I'd be grateful if you find out anything.

I am not Penetanguishene anymore. When I get home I will get get in touch with the guy I was working with and get some contacts/more info. He also said that he would try and get some pictures but that will not be for awhile.

Hello everybody. I asked the guy I was staying in Penetang to take a few pictures and email them to me. I will post them as soon as I get them. If anyone would like to contact Dutchman's cove marina there phone number is (705) 549-2641. There a couple other interesting wooden boats there including a 24ish foot sail boat for $2000 and a couple big power boats that I think he would like to get rid of.
