Anyone have any experience with this "nature" action bilge pump ?

It would seem that any submerged portion would collect marine growth. ?

I've used one for years on a boat on a mooring and it's about time to get a new one, so thank you for the link. I wasn't sure how to get another. The metal parts are rubber encased and the salt water has finally seeped in and caused them to rust and bind a bit. Marine growth has not much of a problem here in the cold water during the three or four month season. The clear plastic tubing degraded due to UV exposure, but 3/8" replacement tubing was available from my local hardware store.
One thing that you'd need to be aware of is that the metal frame, although rubber coated, may bump and rub and scuff the side of the boat in the wave action unless it's somehow held away from the hull.
I don't know how effective they would be on a boat kept in a marina slip. The rocking and mild plunging of my boat's hull on the mooring keeps it pumping quite well.

Thanks Dave for your imformative reply . It seems most here have no need for such a pump or are not aware of it.
BTW just how big are the smaller more common waves where you keep your boat. ? Or rather, what is the size of the smaller wave is needed to get the pump to work ?
They need very little wave or boat motion but they do need some. The pump is in the water and every lifting move of the float is a pumping action. The action would be minimal in a marina behind a mole.

The travel on the pump is about 5-6" so waves of 2-6" are all that's needed.
Thad is being proper about not advertising that he is a provider of these pumps also. I'm getting a new one from him this weekend. You may want to contact him for a price.
