Last posted here in 2003 (under the moniker "bill ladd"). Had to re-register as I'd forgotten my password and have changed emails.

I've recently been hired as a co-host for a pilot TV series about old boats. Not sure how much I'm able to reveal about the show yet, but I'll keep y'all posted as it develops. I'm very excited about it and hope you all will be as well.

It's good to be back in the boating world. I've been living a subsistence-only existence whilst pursuing a career in acting. Naturally, my boatbuilding dreams have been on hold.

Now, to brass tacks --

We're looking for an older Hinckley that is in the early or mid stages of restoration.

An Islander 29 to 31, a Hinckley Owens or a Hinckley 41 would be perfect.

If any here on the forum know of any, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Where were you 2 months ago when Uncas was looking for a home?

Doug.. we are on track here.. Posted above....
I think this might work. Uncas needs some serious work and if we are talking a movie, program, or what have ya, Atlantic Challenge ( boat building school ) can't lose on the advertizing.

Welcome back Mr. Ladd. I met a wonderful chap in Wilmington who could be a good source of info. inspiration for your project. I found this chap in an antique shop downtown on the riverfront, near where the coast guard cutter berths, a little south. His claim to fame was to deliver the first cases of Pussers rum in a traditional craft from England... he is a character and interested in hooking up craft with the movie industry. BTW I know the chap who has the domain for this old boat in RI. He is into it as a hobbie more than business, tho aspirations match his enthusiasm for wood boats. Good fortune in your endeavours.

A boat I'd like to feature, is what it is! If you may, please email me some info/piccys of your boat -- bill.ladd@gmail.com. Just so happens the producers want to do the first episode on Hinckley. Not my call. I'm just hired meat!!

First official day of work on Tuesday. I'll post up more about who we are/what we're doing after I have a sitdown with the head honchos.
