Does any one have a source for plans of Murray G. Peterson's Old Gaffer "Pamet". Even study plans would be good.

Thanks, Barry

I think I ordered a two page article about the original plans for the power boat this was based upon. (18" launch) from Mystic seaport. It was in The rudder ~1934 I think. I'll dig around tonight and post again if I can find it.

From the Apprenticeshop webpage:

18' Double Ender 'Old Gaffer'
Originally designed as a motor launch, this beautiful double-ended hull was later converted to sail. The addition of a ballast keel and a self-tending gaff headed sloop rig make this boat easy to handle and quick in the lightest of breezes. Her large cockpit and small cuddy cabin make her ideal for daysails with up to 4 adults or the occasional week-end camp cruise. Although small in size, this design is rugged and built to take the harsh conditions occasionally found when cruising in coastal waters.

Designer: Murray Peterson

Hey Steve,
It was your pictures from the original thread you posted that caught my eye and made me seek out the rudder issue. Thank you! Beautiful Pics and a beautiful boat. I think I can scan in the page (one page actually not two) tomorrow and possibly post it.

My kind of boat - not overly beamy and plenty of lead on the bottom.

I'm having a gronicle of a time posting the scan. I can e-mail it if you are interested. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to get it posted.--Chris
