The CC Skiff I am looking at (1965 Chris Craft 22' IB utility skiff with 327 V8) has a fiberglass bottom, and lapstrake plywood sides. Bottom (fiberglass) was redone with West System expoxy, and the lapstrake sides refastened and painted with Interlux 2 part epoxy paint (as I am told.). I have never seen a hydrid (wood/glass)of this type. When I first fell in love with this boat it was at a dealer's yard on the Oakland Estuary in 1964 and the boat I saw was all wood. I have never gotten this boat (model) out of my head. I am looking to get cured - even at a moderate cost. Must be a mid-life deal, or something.

I have yet to see the boat, but have pictures (beautiful) and conversations. Boat has 4 hours on total rebuild of everything, with custom tandem axle trailer, covers, etc. I will try at sea before buying.

Any suggestions for caution, madness, other?

Those are neat little boats- great engine, she'll scream.

Have a survey done! Period. Make sure everything is in order.

If all that works has been done properly, and the price is what YOU think is fair- then go for it.
