I found this in the shop getting the hardware out of storage for my ebay sale. Anyone have any idea what it is?

It looks somewhat like a rod-holder for the front of a boat seat/fighting chair.

Yep, Donn's got it. A rod gimble for a fighting chair. I'd give it cir 1950's - 60's, maybe a bit newer.

Isn't that a left handed Gronicle, before they became electronic? The later ones don't last as long, but do seem a little more effective.
